hookups with strangers

Has anyone ever spoken to someone online, then met up and had sex with them/had a sleepover the same day as meeting? It seems so scary to me, but I've organise to sleepover a guys house on Tuesday and I have never even met him. Like what if I'm too ugly? Because he's so fine.... If you've done this how'd it go?
