I've been contracting for 3 days

I lost my mucus plug at 37 weeks and I'm now 38. I've been contracting in my lower back to the point of tears for the past 3 days. They're all very irregular but very painful and happen when i lay down mostly. I've also been having gushes of discharge every time I stand or sit up for almost a week now. I get very short of breath right before they come on and they usually last around a minute. Do these just sound like Braxton hicks? I went to the birthing center and was put on a monitor, but I noticed that some of my most painful ones never even showed up on the monitor. I tried drinking tons of water to see if it helped, but I still got them regardless. Thoughts?? My next appointment isn't for 5 more days :(
