Antenatal classes - did you do them? Should they be enforced?

I signed up to antenatal classes recently, and one of the mothers was talking to a woman that worked there. She loudly said that so many mothers seem incompetent and antenatal classes should be enforced.

Did you do them? Furthermore, do you agree with her? 
 
I think that's a bit extreme, people should still have the choice.

Enforced? Wtf? The government has no right to force anyone to take classes.

Enforced how? I'd be fine with a tax break or some other form of incentivisation.

I didn't. I'm sure they could be a good help, but in no way is it right to force a woman to do them.

Are "so many" mothers really incompetent, though? Why do I get the feeling that incompetent for her roughly translates to "don't do the way things I think they should do them"? I think they could be beneficial, but not forced.

People should always have a choice and do what's right for them and not be forced. It's not something I'd personally ever go to.

According, to WHO ANC is beneficial for both mother and unborn child. ANC, should be encouraged and made aware to mothers ttc, and pregnant mothers. But, in the end it is her choice and should not be forced upon her.

How would they even be forced? It's not like you can stop someone from giving birth if they refuse to take them, lol.

I didn't do any, but I already have two kids so they'd be kind of pointless for me. I did enroll my kids in a siblings class though.

I don't need other people controlling every aspect of my life!

I think they should be encouraged but there's no way to enforce them.
