also, I want to like discuss actually getting married/engaged but idk how to do it. I don't wanna pressure him. we've always said we'd randomly get married but I would like to get married this summer. (I want to elope). can someone comment some advice!? please!

If the venues not too expensive or far away etc... Go for a visit for food or a stay over and just point out how nice it would be to get married here, or how much you like to kiss him under that tree or door arch etc. Don't be too strong with the hinting but just enough so he knows your thinking :)

Just tell him your plans and see what he wants to do. I understand that you have talked about getting married future tense but tell him that you want to be married this summer and I'm sure it will be fine. You shouldn't feel like your pressuring him if you've already talked about marriage good luck :)

Don't worry, your not crazy. I have been with my boyfriend 8 years and still no engagement. I literally just bring it up. There is no easy way to bring it up so I usually will bring up anything awkward or uncomfortable over dinner and maybe a glass of wine. Just get his views on when engagement is in his future, but don't get mad if he doesn't know. Guys tend to "go with the flow" and don't seem to be so interested in planning everything out. Let's hope it all works out for you and your man!

I  extremely insulted that the commenters so far think its "all about me". it's not all about me, I'm just the "planner" in our relationship. I'm asking for advice on how to bring up actually getting engaged. I know I need to talk to him and I know it's not all about me. And just for clarification, the ring I have picked out costs $50, and the entire wedding package costs $500. Don't make me feel like I'm a spoiled little brat.

If you feel that strongly sit him down, tell him you want to be his wife. And ask him to marry you! If he says yes then give it a week then show him what you would like to do. And go from there

Planning a fantasy wedding is no big deal. I plan the minutae of fantasy vacations all the time. You can always propose to him if you're on the same page about marriage but the timetable seems to be going nowhere.
