appropriate to wear to baby shower?

Question

My baby shower is a couple weeks away and my SOs family is throwing it. I want to wear an off the shoulder shirt but my SO thinks it's inappropriate.. I also want to wear heels but he thinks it's "too much". I want to wear jeans with it so the only body part that would be showing is my shoulders.. is that inappropriate or is he overreacting? 
(IF YOU THINK ITS INAPPROPRIATE, please drop some suggestions of what I should wear, including shoe suggestions)

I don't necessarily think it's inappropriate tbh.. wear what you want🙃 but I will say I've been to quite a bit (I have a big family) and they typically wear dresses that how off their baby bump🙂 hope this helps

I don't think that's inappropriate at all! My SO told me one time before going to his mawmaws house that I needed to change. I was wearing leggings & a shirt with a cardigan. It wasn't nothing to fancy we was going for dinner last Easter so I just wore something I thought was comfortable & presentable. The stars of the dinner was his niece & little cousins anyway. I didn't think I needed to be all dolled up for it. It wasn't my first time meeting anyone. Been in the family for going on 6 years lol. He said it was because his mawmaw don't like when his brothers wife wears leggings so I didn't need to either. I honestly don't own any jeans. Imma curvy girl so it's hard enough to find jeans that actually fit my waste and goes above my thick thighs. I feel more comfortable in leggings. I told him if he wanted me to wear something different he can buy me a pair of jeans or anyone else for that matter lol. That was the end of that discussion. 😂
