PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

I just got my first period ever on March 6th this year. Now, I've had stomach aches every day for two weeks and it's so annoying. I also threw up three times. I haven't been able to go to school. I went to the doctor today and she said that it's probably because of my period. I've had it for two weeks though. Does anyone know if this is normal? Did you have it for two weeks your first time? Help!!
