Should i keep helping out my mother in law???

I currently living with my fiance at his moms apartment. My MIL left to go live w her boyfriend n left us the place to take full responsibility. Which is totally fine! But now we have to leave the apartment by this Sunday(due to finical reasons). Well I just started school n I'm working full time. This past 2 days have been so tiring for me n my hun with moving n cleaning. Plus picking up all the mess n junk my MIL left behind. And oh gosh it was a mess! Anyways since we r busting our ass to get this place spotless clean to receive the deposit. But my MIL just announce it is hers since she paid for it. I mean, I get it but I feel we should have a small portion since were the ones doing everything. I'm even going to miss work to clean this place up. I mean is it worth it? Or just I just clean the main parts n not stress about the small things? Please no rude comments.

It's your MIL money, so no you shouldn't get any of it.  If your not happy tidying it all yourself ask for help or say you don't think you should be doing it all.  But remember it's family, seems silly to fall out over something so small

It's her money and it's her mess.

Clean up your mess and leave the rest. If she complains about only getting part of the deposit back you can remind her that she said it's "her money", so you don't have anything to do with it.

She can clean it her dang self. But tall should have changed the lease to be in yalls names in the first place if yall wanted the deposit. Technically it is her money and responsibility to clean it up

It was originally her money. I would have told her in advance "we are moving. If you want your deposit back, you can swing by starting on (insert date) to clean. Most things should be out of the way by then." That would have left her the option to either clean herself, possibly forfeit the deposit, or offer to split the deposit with you if you help. But I wouldn't miss out on pay from work to do it for her unless she was going to pay you for your time spent helping get her deposit back.
