Never dated anyone else...

Im 23 and my ex and I have been separated on and off for 6 months. I'm filing for divorce this week, and I met up with a friend for a Netflix and chill type date a few nights ago. I got to his house before he got home from work (He told me to just go on in because he was going to be late).

So we ate pizza and then he asked if I wanted to cuddle and I was like sure! And so we are laying there and he's kinda rubbing my arm and doing all the cute stuff and we are kinda talking and kinda watching the movie. He kisses my forehead and leans in to kiss me and I said no, sorry that just feels wrong. I told him, "it's not you I just gotta get through this whole divorce thing ya know?" And he was fine it wasn't awkward after that or anything.

I told him the next day I can't really date because of custody battles and all, since that looks bad I guess? He was super nice and said let's just be friends for now. He's also divorced and has a 6 year old.

My question is, are all guys that quick to try and make out? This was a first date. I have no clue how people my age date now. I didn't even know everyone was using dating apps lol. I've only ever been with my husband since we were 19... So I'm clueless. What should I expect next time?

P.s. if you're gonna judge me for dating soon go ahead lol, you have no idea the HELL my life has been with a sexually, physicslly, and emotionally abusive husband for the last 2 years. I deserve some damn happiness✌
