not liking ur mum?

I know a lot of people get pissed when it comes to this sort of thing.. but I don't like my mum. I'm not saying that I don't appreciate her and love her dearly, it's just that I don't like her personality. We clash in a lot of different ways and I just... don't like her 🤔 anyone else have this relationship with their mum?

My mom and I argue all the time. Her beliefs are basically the complete opposite of mine and she doesn't respect that I have an opinion. I try explaining why I feel a certain way about something and she either tells me I'm too young to understand or plays the victim and says "you think I'm so stupid and know nothing." Idk how to respond to that. I love her and respect everything she has been through but shes very judgmental and closed minded.

Same. Recently had to block my mom because she always tries to force me to do what she wants. I'm married and 16 weeks pregnant. I've been living on my own since I was pretty much 16 because she got married for the second time to some asshole that was so creepy with me. Our last fight was about her telling me I need to accept her husband (the creepy one) and that I'm tearing this family apart for not doing so. She then tries to bring up my ex boyfriends in front of my husband for no reason, probably just to hurt feelings. So I finally got the balls to block her for the sake of my baby's health. She then proceeds with texting my husband and mother in law telling them that I told her she can't come to my baby shower and all kinds of lies just to stir up problems LOL I'm done stressing over her, she's always been so mean and judgmental towards me. I've always been jealous of my friends relationships with their moms. Stay strong girl, if you gotta stop talking to her, then do so. Parents should respect their kids too

I don't care for my mom at all. Only reason I have any sort of relationship with her is for my sister. People can get upset about it all they want, but it's not going to change my opinion on my mother. Haha. Whatever relationship or feelings you have towards your mom is fine. You're allowed to have your feelings and people shouldn't tell you they're wrong.

I'm doing the best to accept my mom for who she is and not who I want her to be. But that doesn't mean she doesn't irritate or hurt me at times. It just means I don't expect her to do and say the things I need, so I don't react poorly or get quite so irritated or hurt.

Yes. But I understand she is a teacher to me. She is also my mirror. So whatever I don't like in her... well it directly relates to an aspect of myself. As I mature it's easier to respect the differences because my wider perspective allows me to understand why she is the way she is. There's nothing I don't love about my mother, because if I didn't love something in her, then I clearly don't love myself!

Yes. Me and my mum have a not so great history. My childhood wasn't great, I've needed a lot of mental help growing up but I'm in a good place now and we've let the past go.
However, her attitude is awful 🙈 she's a woman who is very quick to judge, very closed minded and unfortunately sees herself as the complete opposite. I can tolerate her in small doses lol.
