had anyone ever taken prednisone while pregnant ?

So I have to take 5mg twice a day of prednisone for recurrent miscarriages and I'm really worried because I know there's a slight risk of cleft palate.. my dr said the chances are very low and my dose isn't even that high. Has anyone tried taking it while pregnant ? Or do u know anyone who did and if so did u turn out fine ? I'm worried if I stop it I'll miscarry

I haven't taken that medication but I was on a medication that made me go into high risk and could cause deformities but if I stopped taking it I would loose my baby. My daughter turned out perfectly healthy and only had to stay in the hospital 2 extra days just to be observed for withdrawals. I worried my whole pregnancy that something would be wrong with her even when I gave birth the first thing I said was what's wrong with her? So try not to worry I'm sure your baby will be perfect!

I had to take some around 7/8 weeks for a horrible set of hives that were very hard and painful. Dr said it was the only thing hat would cure it. So benefit outweighed the risk. I started with 60mg and tapered down every day by 10 mg til 10mg on my last day. No concern over here. Baby is doing great

I took prednisone when I was about 20 weeks because I had bronchitis and it was the only thing I could take to help it go away. I have not had any problems in the rest of my pregnancy. I do have gestational diabetes but I don't believe the two are related. I will be having my baby boy soon but so far no defects. Good luck with your pregnancy, trust in your practitioner!
