Got my IUD yesterday..
I got mirena inserted in yesterday and wanted to share my experience. First I want to say that I am excited for this as I'm limited to what birth control products I can use as I can't have anything with estrogen in it.
I had done reading on mirena for like 3 weeks before I had officially decided that's what I wanted. I didn't choose the implant because I didn't want an FBI tracker in my arm. Lol kidding.
So back to getting mirena. So I'm spread eagle in the room and my doctor informs me that I have a tilted cervix and she needs to straighten it out in order to put mirena in my uterus. She puts a "cervix cap" on there and pulls it down and let me tell you I've never felt a pain like this before. It only lasted for maybe 10-15 seconds but I became flushed and almost passed out.
After it was done, I laid there for about 10 minutes. My dr explained to me the usual side effects, cramping, spotting..
All night I had terrible cramps but it was bearable. But I am really excited for it to take affect and start working. What was your experience?
