Boy problems

So I've been recently talking to this guy and his best friend is a girl, they have been friends for 5 years and he says he has never had a crush on her. But he asks me a lot if I'm jealous of him hanging out with her a lot. And I kind of feel like he wants me to be jealous. And I just wanna know what other people think about it?
