what to expect?

So my first appointment would be when I'm 9w 6d, the nurse told me that they will not do an ultrasound until I'm 12 wks or more 😐 and all what they are gonna do is Pap smear and some tests. Ladies who are in the USA, and had the same experience. How doctors make sure everything is okay with the baby? If it's growing as it should be or not! Is there any tests can I ask for? I can't wait one more month to see my baby. I'm very anxious 😩 and I can't stop thinking especially when I read that some women found out that their baby stopped growing without they even feel or bleed or anything. I'm still having symptoms but I know this is not enough to make sure baby is fine.
