periods after baby

My son is 6 weeks old tomorrow- my first period since giving birth started on Thursday. I had a c-section- hardly bleed after the c-section. It lasted maybe 3 days and it was done. I'm breastfeeding so I'm super sad my period came back this early BUT I have never in my life had a period this heavy! Sorry if it's TMI- but I'm bleeding so bad! The heavy duty pads last maybe an hour if I'm lucky. So so so many big clots too. So much blood every time I stand up or pee. I have never had a period this bad. It is seriously like 5x worse than after I gave birth! Is this normal??? I thought it would slow down by now but nope. I don't really want to bug my ob on Easter weekend if this is normal. I have an appointment with her on Wednesday and I'll bring it up then but I'm starting to really wonder if this is normal.
