14 week scare - need prayers

Katherine • Proud mama of 👧🏼 3 years, 👼🏻 17 months and 🌈👶🏻 "expected" October 2017. Embracing every moment. 😻
Yesterday I went in for a checkup. I'm 14 weeks along and the OB had a hard time finding the baby's heartbeat using the Doppler. She rushed to get the ultrasound machine and successfully found the heartbeat. But the (mental) damage was done and I've been crying since.  Last year I lost my daughter during labor at 39w and I'm terrified it's going to happen again. Any prayers and words of encouragement are greatly needed.

its completely understandable, I had a miscarriage in October and I've been struggling but my faith is finally back where it needs to be, now hopefully expecting my rainbow baby 😊 (I said hopefully because af is a day late & I haven't tested yet)

Yes He is. I need to be more trusting, but I'm struggling so hard.

It's pretty common for Dopplers to have a hard time finding the heartbeat before 16 weeks, it all depends on baby's position. The fact that she found the heartbeat on the us machine is good news. I know how you feel. I went in for my 12 week appt and she couldn't find the heartbeat with the Doppler. I knew that was common so I wasn't too upset yet. She brought in the us machine and had trouble finding the heartbeat with the machine, at which point she had to get the Dr. At this point I was hysterical. Dr came in and found the baby and the heartbeat within a minute, it just all depends on positioning. I wouldn't be worried if I were you. Your next appointment it will be much easier to find with a Doppler because baby will be bigger. I went last week at 16 weeks and midwife found it immediately. I can even find it myself with my home Doppler most days without any problems. At 14 weeks baby is still really small and can hide behind something you wouldn't think of. Be patient. You'll be ok. Good luck.

im 17+5 now and sometimes it still takes me a little bit of time to find it, only because baby is moving and its hard to know where baby is. i also have an anterior placenta, so i often feel that i struggle sometimes to find the ❤️ because baby is on the other side of the placenta and is blocked from the doppler

i got the sonoline b doppler. i do recommend it, but after 16 weeks. ive read some reviews where people found the ❤️ before 16 weeks, but most people agree that 16 weeks or later is best. i didnt buy mine until right before 16 weeks, had it the day after i became 16 weeks and found it after a few minutes. it definitely takes some practice tho and if you feel yourself getting frustrated, then its best to just take a break for a while and try again later.
