spotting help!?!

so i was on my period last month around the 26/27 or so.. so i'm not due for it again until next week. today i started cramping and i'm kind of spotting.. has this happened to anyone? how long did it last? i have prom saturday and it's the first time i see my boyfriend for a while so i really can't be bleeding 😭 please help!!!!
