How long after your last break up did you start dating again?

My boyfriend and I recently broke up. I think time is what I need but I'm just wondering how long people typically wait.

I believe you start dating again when youre over him. So no exact time limit. Putting time limits on emotional things is ridiculous bc your emotions arent on a timer. 
I was over my last ex before we broke up but i gave myself some alone time to get over the hurt. 1 month later i started telling people and hanging out with a friend. 2 months after that i started dating that friend and hes the best guy ive ever dated and the first guy ive really been in love with. He wouldve waited for me if i needed it though.

Depends on how serious the relationship is. I dated a guy but wasn't really feeling the relationship so we broke up and I started seeing other guys basically right away. Have been with my current SO for almost 3 years, if we broke up, I wouldn't want to date for a long time.

I was a serial long term relationship girl. Every time I broke up with one guy, I'd be in another committed relationship like a month or two later. This kept going on from my sophomore year of high school until I was 26 years old. I was literally never single for longer than a month or two. When I was 26, I finally broke it off with a guy I was with for a few months, but he was also one of my closest friends from childhood so it hit me hard. I finally took time to be by myself and it really did do wonders. It allowed me to find myself, know exactly what I was looking for, and be picky about who I would get into future relationships with. After eight months of being single, I started seeing an amazing man, someone I had actually went to high school with. We are now happily married and TTC our first 😍

I think it depends how serious the relationship was. Before I met my current boyfriend of 3 years I was single for 2 years but started casual dating (nothing serious) after a year.

My mom's rule is at least the same amount of time you dated and if it was long term at least half. (She's a wise woman and I trust this advice)!

Like two months lol. I was in that relationship for 5 years to. It was super shitty I should of left a long time ago. But yeah I started seeing/having sex with this guy and we're together 4 years later and he's the one for me. So it worked out.
