Are acrylic nails supposed to hurt?

I got my nails done for the first time yesterday. I LOVE them, but my nails feel, like, sore??? Or something?? Is this supposed to happen??

If you get them done regularly then no it doesn't hurt. But going from nothing on your nails to having fake nails yes, they get a sore bruised feeling

It happens a lot but it's technically not supposed to. I paid a lot for my first set ever, and the lady was super gentle with the filing so my fingers never hurt.
After that, I shopped around to find better deals. A few cheap places did it right, but 50% of them filed my nails so much and so hard that my fingers were sore for at least one week.

My nails are normally sore the day after, they're just so dang rough doing it lol

Technically, no. But everyone I've ever talked to that's had acrylics, including myself, gets sore after a set has been put on. Not so much after a fill-in but after a new set, I like to take some Advil so it isn't too sore. ☺️
