Day Care Teacher Pay

🌹

Over the summer, my roommate works as a daycare teacher making $8 an hour.

I work making sandwiches for $8.25 an hour.

I have friends who work at a gas station making $10 an hour.

I really don't think that someone looking after infant children, being pulled a million directions, should be making only $8 an hour, less than a sandwich maker and a gas station cashier. Do you think this is fair?

EDIT: A lot of you are bringing up good points about how it's not feasible to pay much more, but in addition to this discussion, feasible or not, do you think that $8 per hour is too little?
