Atypical Migraine vs Stroke

I was in the hospital last week after having a weird medical experience. I was talking to someone when my eyes started crossing on their own, feeling strained and nagging me dizzy, while I was waiting for my doctor to call me back I had hot flashes, black spots, trouble concentrating, and numbness in the left side of my face and arm. They kept me in the hospital overnight for observation and said it was probably an atypical migraine with neurological deficits, but then they sent me home with a bunch of stroke pamphlets. Now I'm too paranoid to go back to work because I have to drive all over Philly and I don't want that to happen there. Anyone else every have this? (I very rarely got headaches at all before this)
