Thoughts on Depo shot?

Pros and Cons?
Did you bleed during the beginning stage? Was it bad breakthrough bleeding? Did it last long?

Cons-hair loss, mood swings, depressive thoughts, extreme appetite, nausea, vomtiting, constant bleeding the whole 3 months, excessive weight gain, sudden acne, migraines, bone density loss and extreme joint pains.
Pros-I went up 3 bra sizes......that's about it.
Honestly I wouldn't take it again if you paid me.

It didn't take my period right away but ultimately I stopped having a period... Bad thing is, after stopping the shot my period did not come back and I ended up having polycystic ovaries and had to take fertility meds and meds to induce a period in order to get pregnant. But if you are not looking to have kids anytime soon you're straight.

It's the only form of birth control that I've truly hated. I bled for 3 months!! (Not heavy, but still) and I went from 125 lbs to 155 lbs (in about 9 months). I did not increase my eating, and I would work out constantly and I could not lose the weight...I went off of it, and exactly one year later, all the weight just disappeared...without even trying. They say weight gain is normal, but I thought that was crazy!!! I did really like the convenience of it...

Pros - no period and only need to go for it every 12 weeks so not hard to remember to get it.

Cons... - bigger appetite = weight gain!, moodier, seemed more tired than usual, took longer to conceive for me once coming off it.

I will never get it again! I bled for three months straight and gained 10 lbs that I still have not been able to lose (it has been a good year since I got the injection). I have also seen some posts that women who have been on it longer have had trouble regulating once they were off of it and did want to become pregnant.

I'll never do the depo again. I bled for weeks and weeks. It was a period times 5 for me.

Pros- no period.
Cons- I gained hella weight. I went to boot camp while on depo and I still gained weight. I bled for 3 weeks when I first got the shot.
