Birth control pills

I just read that when ur on birth control pills u dont need a period technically speaking. I always thought u did. Im 23 and learning some interesting stuff. I guess stressing out bc my bf and i messed around and he didnt do nothing inside precum or anything and i guess stress can delay a period if u normally have one. Can anyone help me out
