Losing a job due to mental illness...
Sorry if this needs to get deleted, I just needed to rant....
My husband was hospitalized due to mental illness for two weeks. His work was aware of the situation and he used up vacation and sick days while in hospital. After getting out, he's now basically been told he no longer has a job to come back to. He's an associate at a law firm and the senior partner needs to "evaluate his position" there.
It's disgusting that the partner is playing around like this, my husband has a family to support and bills to pay and deserves to know if he has a job or not so he can start looking for a new one. Mental illness is real, he didn't ask to become sick. He's bipolar and many successful professionals have that disorder.
I'm a stay at home mom, but our savings won't last forever so now I'm looking for another waitress job hoping it'll be enough so we don't lose our home 😔
Update... we live in Ontario, and he doesn't have Short term disability at his work. He's on EI
