IUD pros/cons?

Question

After having my last little I had to be readmitted a week later for a blood clot in my lung. With that I have to take blood thinners for 6 months to a year. So now my options for birth control are only estrogen free methods which are the IUD or the arm implant (which I don't want). I have only used the BC pill for 16 years so I have no idea what to expect with something different. What are the pros/cons of the IUD? Bloating? Weight gain? Anyone have it and wish they didn't? Just wanting real reviews and not what the doctors are throwing at me 🙄

I had the mirana(not sure if that's how you spell it) and I bleed for 3 weeks out of each month for the 7-8months that I had it in. I believe they are suppose to make it so your periods are lighter or non existent,which was obviously not experience...lol. So I had it removed. Everyone's story is different though and o know plenty of people who were on it and it actually did what it was suppose to. I didn't get pregnant while on it so I guess really it did what it was suppose to do..lol. also I had like weird cramp pains and it hurt during intercourse. But maybe mine wasn't put in right or something.

I only kept the Mirena in a month, I had it put in when baby #3 was 9 weeks old, it hurt so so bad going in. I bled the entire month, the reason I had it taken out was that it made me feel like I was going crazy. I was all of a sudden crying all the time, I had bad anxiety and felt panicked all the time about everything. I was a mess, 9 days after it was out I was back to normal. I also was on the pill for years before with no problems.
