my retainer is hurting me so much

I have had it for 4 years and I have never felt pain until now. I feel like my teeth are trying to move and it freaking hurts, I floss between my teeth and make sure there's nothing stuck under it. What do I do? Has anyone else experienced this? Edit: it's permanent meaning it's been glued to my teeth and has been on since the day I got my braces off. I cannot take it off unless I went to the dentist.
