Hashimoto's/ hypothyroid and pregnancy?

Question

My SO and I are no where near TTC yet but it is in our 5 year plan. I know it can make things difficult and its one of my biggest fears to not be able to conceive when the time is right. 
 Have any of you ladies had a successful pregnancy with Hashimotos or hypothyroidism? Were you on birth control before TTC? How long were you TTC and did you have any miscarriages? How did your endo and obgyn monitor your levels during the pregnancy.

I have Hashimotos. As soon as I got pregnant I started seeing a specialist. She upped my dose. She monitors my levels and adjusts as needed they like to keep leves between 2 and 2.5 when pregnant. I am 31 weeks 3 days, only took 2 months to conceive and never had any previous pregnancy. I am lucky. Hadn't been on birth control in about 6 years...

I was on birth control for 7 years and stopped it, got pregnant my second month. I have had hypothyroidism since last April and was able to conceive just fine. I'm in my 24th week of pregnancy and have gained 12 lbs. good luck!

I have Hashimoto's and was diagnosed after giving birth to my son 2 years ago. It's really important to get your TSH under 2 and lower your antibodies as much as possible (normally through diet and supplements). Working on these two things will help you avoid trouble down the road. I was able to conceive a second child as well and am due this month. But I would definitely get off birth control in favor of something non hormonal. Birth control pills, Mirena, etc are not good options, especially for people with autoimmune disease. I don't know all of the specifics, but a friend of mine did! She had two miscarriages, but after six months of TTC, she did it!

I have hyperthyroidism (overactive) my ob sent me to a thyroid specialist who has gotten it under control. Took 3 months to get it where it should be. I was on bc before for 2 years then got off of it to ttc and that's when we found out about my thyroid. Took us 2 months after getting it under control to conceive. I just have to go in once a month now to get my levels checked so they can adjust my meds if needed. Don't know the process for hypo but can't imagine it would be too much different. Oh and no miscarriages (so far)
