Is your boyfriend still friends with their ex?

I have this weird feeling that my boyfriends ex is "the one that got away".
They had a 4 year relationship together, they lived together, they miscarried and went through a lot of shit.

He's been really MIA lately and I went through his phone this morning - I know I shouldn't have - but, I saw they're talking at least 6 times a month for the last 2 or 3 months.

If I bring it up, I know he'll get mad at me for going through his phone and I really don't trust him anymore after this.
I want to leave him, and I know this sounds dumb, but I feel like I literally don't have a good enough reason.

It's not that I don't want him taking to girls or anything, I couldn't care less, but I know he will always love her and I'll never compare. 
Am I over-reacting?

I don't think you're overreacting. He wasn't being completely truthful with you. He shouldn't be talking to or being friends with any exes without you knowing. I'd be pissed if my bf did that. If you want to leave him you should. You'll be so much happier.

Maybe just bring the subject up without saying you looked through his phone.I don't know what exactly the texting between them is about but you do so you can make your decision based on this. I personally keep friends with exs and there's no flirting or anything related, is purely to know how the other is doing in life.
Talk to him, listen and be open.

Maaaaaannnn haha my bf is still good friends with the girl he fucked. When I found out, along with other things of his past, I really considered breaking up with him. But I had to remember that his past shouldn't define him. It was really hard to get over. Especially when I had been hanging out with her and everything. Like, your dick was in that. She knows exactly how you are in bed. Sometimes I still think about it. But he seems to like me so 🤷🏾‍♀️ I don't know. If I feel something is up between them though, I won't hesitate to leave. Getting off from the tangent bus now, I would say you shouldn't trust him. He should've told you off the bat that he was still talking to her. If you have a bad feeling about this, you have every right to leave him. The reason doesn't have to be "good enough." What matters is your happiness! If you don't trust him, there really is no relationship.
