vaginal issues.

I was having very bad vaginal itching so I assumed it was a yeast infection I bought monistat 7 and I'm day 5 I started my cycle early this is the second one this month. This might be TMI but my blood has a very strong smell not one you can smell through your jeans but the itching is pretty much gone but I'm kind of worried any ideas? I may just have BV which happens when I starte having sex again after not having any for a long period of time.
