Self-Diagnosing Mental Illness
I'm sure you've all seen those pictures on social media that's like "you know you live with anxiety if..." and lists of two or three symptoms of anxiety but are also general things that everyone can relate to from time to time. Am I the only one bothered by those? Am I the only one who's bothered by people using pictures like that and the diagnosing themselves with anxiety (or depression, OCD, or any other mental illness)? I mean, you wouldn't diagnose yourself with a physical illness. Why a mental one? If you think you have a mental illness, seek help. Nothing annoys me more than seeing people share those pictures and say "wow I guess I have anxiety". No, you can relate to a picture. What do you guys think? Can you diagnose yourself with a mental illness? Or, if you've struggled with one, does this bother you too?
