I'm demisexual?

Question

I literally just learned this word, demisexual but I guess it means that I'm not sexually attracted to anyone unless I have an emotional bond to them. I've noticed that whenever I start to date a guy, I don't think about him sexually until I'm more attached emotionally. I always thought I was kind of weird because all of my friends immediately started being sexual with guys they had just met & I never understood how they could. Is anyone else this way too?

I think human sexuality is more complex than many people realize, and if you have found something that helps you make sense of your own personal identity, then more power to you! Life is a process of growing and learning, and if anything helps you understand yourself better, then that is actually a wonderful thing. 
My husband is the only person I have ever been sexually attracted to. I did not realize that until I fell in love with him and felt sexual attraction for the first time. I had never been in love before, and was never interested in anyone in that way before him, even guys I dated (I felt like I SHOULD be feeling something, and often tried to force it, but that just doesn't work). I always knew there was something I WASN'T feeling, but I couldn't put a finger on it. No celebrity crushes, no spotting someone on the street and imagining them in bed, no desiring boys from school in that way (I literally never cared about boys, at all, in fact). Just.. nothing. Nowadays, I'll still tell people I'm straight (as I pretty much am, I'm only interested romantically in men), but learning about Demisexuality helped me put a name to what I was (or rather, wasn't) experiencing. For me, it is just another helpful tool for my own self-awareness and understanding, and I don't personally think there is anything wrong or sad about that. 😊 When you know yourself better and trust in that, then you can more authentically be who YOU are-- no trying to force or change things, no doing things you would rather not, no trusting others over yourself. I wish I would have realized and embraced it sooner, because I would have done things differently.

I am like that as well. I can see a guy with a cute face and hot body and not be attracted to him. The emotional bond is what attracts me and turns me on! I found I cant have sex without and emotional bond.

That is so me! I didn't even feel tempted to sleep with my Fiancé until after I started really falling for him! Met him in November 2010 and we didn't sleep together until July 2011. Now I can't keep my hands off him

That's not really a sexuality it's just being a normal human being. If emotion didn't matter, we could just have sex with cucumbers and tree stumps.

I guess so many people these days are putting their sexuality on "things" that liking actual people is a sexuality now. Sad :(
