anybody wait until 12 weeks to get their first ultrasound?

With our first, we didn't have insurance until I was 15 weeks so we waited til then, and she looked like a regular baby moving and everything! Has anyone waited until 12 weeks to get their ultrasound done?

I'm going in a week for blood work and confirmation at 4weeks 5days and I don't want to just get a bean picture at 6-8 weeks.

I got my first when I was 7 weeks. Had an emergency one tonight at 11 weeks. Then I have my scheduled one for next week when I'll be 12 weeks! I have a friend who is pregnant and she didn't get her first ultrasound until she was almost 13 weeks because she didn't know she was pregnant.

I had my dating scan at 6 weeks and 4 days now have my 12 week scan on Friday

Thanks everyone! I just see so many people, non high risk, getting ultrasounds at 6-8 weeks and the baby looks more like a bean to me, and I just wanted to wait this time as well!

I'm high risk and they still aren't doing a scan until 12 weeks.
I think things may have changed because my ob doesn't scan until 20 weeks, and my cousins gf didn't get a scan until 18weeks.

I waited 12 weeks. Not because I wanted to or because of insurance but because here you don't get ultrasounds until 12 weeks unless you are high risk
