How can we move forward? HELP!!

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years, we don't live together and we still live at home because neither of are in positions to move out yet. He's 22 I'm 19.

We have been doing everything the same since we started our relationship, but I was wondering if there was a way to go forward without moving in together. I'm really stuck, I know it sounds silly but I need something?

Well, at 19 and 22, have you both picked up jobs? Are you sure there's no way you can move out even if it's a really cheap apartment? It all depends where you live and how much you make, though.

I was in this exact same position! My boyfriend and I are 19 and have been together for nearly three years but we are both in college (so it's not possible to live together yet). I really felt stuck because we weren't ready to be engaged, but it sounded ridiculous to call him my boyfriend. A few things that worked: I cleaned out a few drawers in my dorm room and filled it with stuff he needs when he sleeps over and I put up some posters of things he loves on my walls. Then I asked him to 10% move in with me. I know this sounds silly, but now when he is here it feels like "our" space rather than mine. Over winter break we exchanged promise rings and that made a big difference as well. It is a simple sign to show that we are a unit rather than just two people dating. Good luck! ❤
