My boyfrind said he would not marry me until i have a job?

Question

I am in my second year of college and My major requires a lot of my time so i dont work. My boyftiend says he wont  marry me until i finish and have a job because he doesnt want to have to support me a hundred percent. He has a pretty good and stable job but he wants another job with less hours so he can finish school himself. 
I just feel lik he wont marry me unless it is convinient for him which right now is not. And i wonder, is that love? He said that if i had a job things would be different and he would marry me. 
I feel like when you really love a person and truly want to marry them you dont care about what is convinient. Love is not about convinience.

I think you're taking it the wrong way. Sounds like he wants you to carry some weight like he does. He sounds like he wants you to be independent nothing wrong with that. He looks at you like an equal therefore you should have equal weight. 
Not a lot of people want the entire weight of cost of living on them. That's understandable. If you feel like this talk it out with him. 
Switch the role. Would you marry him if he were in your situation?

Sounds like he is a smart man, plus I think its very imporatant as a woman to always be able to provide for yourself, cause you never know what life will throw at you and you have to be ready

I don't think it's about convenience. It's about feeling secure. I think he wants to make sure that when you guys get married, yall will be financially stable. It takes more than love to make a marriage work. Financial situations can put a strain on a marriage.

I won't marry my so till he has a job. I love him to death but I know from past experiences that being the only one that works and supporting yourself and another is stressful and adds to tense,guilt,fights,stress and anxiety. When he gets a job I will marry him as it will benefit us both.

I think he sounds very sensible. Nobody should get married until they are financially stable, you should both finish school and both be working. Why should he have to look after you? Support yourself! When your married if you lost your job I'm sure he would still stand by you but why should be run round after some lazy girl?

If you love someone don't you want to eventually have a family? Wouldn't you want both parents to be stable income to give that family everything it needs? 
He sounds like he's thinking long term not short term. Once he finishes school as well he can get more money, same with you once you're done with college. I wouldn't harass him too much about but he very well could be trying to think about the future and this is how he's going about it.
