Purposefully holding out on sex
I'm almost 21 and been in a 4 yr relationship with my boyfriend. We are very much sexually attracted to each other and have been since the beginning. I used to have sex with him whenever he wanted (it was consensual) but... there were a lot of times I felt like his attitude would change slightly after. Like he'd be super affectionate before and then after more chillaxed and less close, more eh if you want to cuddle okay but if you don't aight. So for the past month I've decided to have sex less often with him as a semi experiment and that also this past month was pretty tiring from life (that's how the less sex schedule started).
Instead of having sex every morning when he gets wood and night I maybe have sex with him twice a week. Now he has become much, much more clingy. Everyday he wants to be close and together all day. This change has been nice because I have always felt like the more emotionally invested clingier person in the relationship.
First of all, is this right? We are still happy and progressing, but we talk more often now and have strengthened as best friends.
Second, he knows I'm smart and probably that I'm aware of the less sex we have. If he's a good boyfriend, should I have nothing to fear? Do all men crack from undersatisfied sex lives or only the bad ones? I really like this deeper emotional connection we have but this boy is a horn dog and likes a lot of sex during the week. If it's real love, will he adapt?
EDIT:this isn't really an elaborate plan lol.. as one of you commented. Myself I'm not a horn dog so my preference is less sex during the week. If he ever wanted a real talk about it I would be honest about my sexual preferences. Before now we have been going with his sexual activity frequency. I was looking for some women to relate and talk about how to build up your emotional relationship with each other without using sex.
