Got in the middle of a dog fight, 21 weeks pregnant. What can I do or take for swelling? I've just accepted that it is going to hurt really bad. But the swelling and pressure is too much. Please help

If you have not had a tetanus booster during pregnancy, you need one now, ASAP.

Any dog bite, whether your own or someone else's dog, you need a tetanus booster; pregnant or not.

Generally, you are given a tetanus booster during pregnancy, but if you have not had one, you will need one today.

Clean it, put a cream on it and then a bandaid over it. Try taking some Tylenol extra strength for the pain or a numbing cream.

You can take paracetamol (Tylenol) for the pain and ice it to reduce the swelling. (When icing, don't put it directly on the skin, it can damage the skin).

Bring it up with your doctor as soon as you're able (they  will make sure it's healing properly and probably recommend a tetanus shot etc).

Make sure it's thoroughly cleaned to prevent infection.

Don't take aspirin or ibuprofen for the swelling - they're not okay for pregnant/breastfeeding ladies.

Please get it checked out I'm a dog groomer and this exact thing happened to me. A dog bit me right through my finger nail. It's going to be hard to clean that area seeing how it's under your nail. An infection is very likely, you may need antibiotics you don't want an infection spreading to your blood or baby! But for me, I just have to press on my nail around the area, and a lot of the blood came up through the home the dog made in my nail. It hurt for the moment but after the pressure was released it helped a lot with the pain!
