metronidazole use for BV

I started using the metro gel last Thursday night and completed the last dose this past Monday night. I'm still having some of the discharge that I experienced during the course of the medication. It hasn't been too much, I usually notice a small amount around my vaginal opening when I go to use the restroom but today while having a BM a lot had come out from contracting my muscles. I know it's from getting rid of the bacterial infection. I'm just surprised that 4 days later I'm still experiencing it some. It's not so much a cottage cheese-like discharge that you see with a yeast Infection but more gritty like ricotta cheese with some old blood mixed in. Lucky me was on my period during this treatment lol. If you've used the gel medication before how long did your body rid the medication/bacteria? Of course it's Friday and my gyno is closed so can't ask her!! 🙄 lol
