car sales consultant anyone?

Is anyone here a car salesmen (women)? I'm gonna be a senior next year but I know college just isn't for me! I wanted to becomes a real estate agent but now I kinda wanna work at a car dealership but I have no idea what the salary is. I've read that you get paid by the hour plus commission but then I read that you don't get paid if you don't sell?! Can someone please explain to me?

You'd make more as a service advisor probably! But it all depends on where you work and how busy it is! You have to build clientele too.  My husband works at Toyota Autonation and has been a car salesman but only made like $700-$900 a paycheck! Which here in Austin Texas isn't enough for a family of 3/4...anyway he went to the service department and now makes waaaayyyy more and I've been able to be a sahm for 5 years because of it!  We own a house and 2 cars!  Either way you're selling stuff, either cars or car service! Lol

The way that the car industry treats its customers is sexist so maybe it wouldn't be the best workplace if you would be sensitive to that. The internet may wield both job offers and the compiled information

It all depends where you work. Most do base and commission and some only do base. That would be something to ask at an interview.
