Is it mean to return baby clothes?

Question

Let's say you get a lot of baby clothes at the shower and return them all in exchange for a much needed item (mattress, diapers, car seat). Would it be mean because people would expect to eventually see your baby dressed in the clothes they picked out?

I'm sure if you sold it and someone really asked why they've never seen baby wear it you could always tell a little lie and say they have or outgrew it. It's not like they're going to find out what you dress your kid in 24/7.

Depends: if it's a pack of genetic onesies, then it doesn't really matter. 
If it's a special outfit someone takes the time to tell you is special, I think you should keep it.

What if some one asks you "hey where's that outfit I got for your baby?"? Are you going to be like "uh I returned it"? 😂 awkward

Nope not mean at all. One of my friends gave me 4 diaper boxes full of clothes. I took all of them to Once Upon A Child and sold what I could so I could use the money for something my child will need. He already has enough clothes

I returned clothes I didn't need/want as she already had a lot that I bought her. I went and bought items we needed in the beginning. I even returned her high chair since that wasn't something we'd need for a while. Don't feel bad at all for getting your child the things they need.

At mine I specifically asked for no newborn clothes and if they felt the need to buy clothes that I needed 6 months and up. People of course still bought all newborn clothes because they're smaller and cuter lol I only got a small amount of clothes, I mostly got wipes and diapers. 🙌🏼

Not at all. If someone ever asked Judy be honest. We already had so many clothes so we returned it and got xyz which we desperately needed. It's not like you are returning it and buying something for yourself you're getting a car seat or a stroller
