So my SO told me today he prefers me to showerbefore sex. He says it's to 'take care of the smell'. I'm clean, no problems, and don't smell. I guess my question is how to explain to him that vaginas have a natural smell that isn't bad? I know what he's talking about, and it's not bad. I'm not self conscious, I just want him to understand.

Don't know about u, but while vaginas DO have a natural smell, I always shower before and after sex.  I myself like to be fresh out the shower and same goes for my fiance as well.  Dick has a "natural" smell too, but just like vaginas, after a day of work, or even just laying around all day,  Ur dick will sweat and smell a bit musky. Same with vaginas. 
It's not an insult to want your partner to be fresh out the shower before sex,  in my opinion. But I also think this MYSELF. .. I like to shave everywhere and put deodorant on my armpits. I like to have fresh, clean smelling hair etc etc. 
I see nothing wrong with your partner asking you to take a shower before sex,  but that's just me. ..

I'm sure he understands just fine. I know if I take a shower in the morning and then when I get home in the evening my vagina smells like sweat so I either shower again or just wash it with a wash cloth. I'm bi, so I have been  with a few girls and let me just say that sweaty vag don't taste good.

Tell him exactly that. They have a natural smell and you can't change that.
