sunbeds during pregnancy?

I'm heading on holidays in 5 weeks and was hoping to do a few sunbeds before I go to get a bit of a base, like only 5 mins each time.. just wondering has anyone done beds while they were pregnant?

I strongly do not reccomend it even though it's only 5 minutes, that 5 minutes is exposing your baby to harmful rays, you having the chance of over beating and so much more. Outdoors would probably be a better idea!

Get an organic spray tan. "Base tan" is kind of a myth anyways if you're thinking that it will prevent sun burn while your on vacation. Still should wear the proper amount of spf.
Also would possibly make any stretch marks you may have/are getting look worse.

Honestly, I am an avid tanner. I tan a LOT. I chose to stop when I got pregnant, but however, contrary to popular belief tanning during pregnant is okay. I know women from the tanning community who tanned the entire pregnancy without every stopping snd had a healthy baby. As long as you don't overheat it's fine. The one girl I know, her doctor gave her a note stating it was okay and all the reasons why it is okay. The rays do not penetrate that deep into the skin, so no uv rays make contact with your baby. Overheating is the only thing. So if you tan in a bed with very good ventilation you are actually Okay.

If it helps, my dermo told me that he would rather me go to Mexico and burn there then tan in a tanning bed.

He said the rays from a bed cause more damage then the sun does as they are more concentrated (in order to get you darker)

So I'd skip it even if I wasn't preg. No one wants cancer.

As promised I'm posting this photo that a friend of mine had posted on her tanning account when she eas pregnant. This paper came from her doctors at her hospital. Of course no one will recommend it, not many people recommend tanning as it is. But it WILL NOT HARM YOUR BABY
