Baby Shower Drama
I'm really about to cancel the whole thing.
My family is suffering a loss, husbands grandfather in Portugal is dying and my in-laws just left yesterday and will probably be gone until the wee days before the baby shower. Clearly I would rather them be with her parents, if I could travel I'd be there myself. It just shifted the stress of the shower onto me, and I'm grieving right now, my heart is broken.
Just now I received an RSVP from someone his mother knows well, but she listed her husband as one of the guests. The thing is, nobody else was told they could bring their husband and we don't have enough chairs reserved for everyone to do so.
My family is completely a mess, nobody wants to see each other so I am ending up with probably 6 or 7 people from my side and the total list is about 30.
I don't want to think about a stupid party in a time like this but I have to. Does anyone have advice?
