jobs abroad?

I'm learning german through a phone app and some books. German is my main heritage (my Oma immigrated at age 13) and I really want to be able to pass it down to my future kiddos.
.
My Oma have the idea of going over there for work since my husband has his bachelors in English and will have his Masters in education in 2 years, he could be part of one of those "teach english" programs.
.
However, I am worried about what I would do then? I have nanny experience (which would be good for an au paire) or customer service (I've seen internships at call centers?)... hopefully in two years my german will be somewhat decent (especially if I take classes like I want to). But it just seems like a lot of fun to live abroad! I just have no idea how it would work if my husband is teaching English , and probably not compensated enough for the both of us. I'm not exactly sure what I could do to make up the difference.
.
.
.
And what I'm most terrified about- I have lupus and have state insurance at the moment. If we committed to a year (or even more) abroad, how the heck am I to get/afford medical care?
