When to transition to a toddler bed

Question

So my son is getting taller everyday and sleeps so weirdly. He first flops around and then he sleeps on his tummy with his butt in the air. He isn't wanting to climb out yet he is just getting so tall. He is almost as tall as a two year old. He is 30 pounds and about 36 inches. What do you think girls?

My son is 14 months  and i just did put his crib away buy mattress and put it on the floor and I sleep with him the best choice he still wake up at night so it's better on me as I don't have to get up I have his bottle ready just stick to his mouth  and go back to sleep he was sleeping all over crib hitting so I make decision it's the time and he sleeps pretty good besides that he still wake up 2 times for bottle it's his comfort not hunger but I just can't let him cry it out so I wait till he grow out of it

I read somewhere the best age is around 3.  I made the mistake of moving my son too early at 2&1/2 and he kept coming to our room in the middle of the night. Now I sleep with him (he's 4). And I was hard core with him as a baby and did sleep training and CIO and never let him in my bed as an infant.

I was just talking to my friend about transitioning beds. Her son is 18 months and sleeps in a crib still but I have another friend that moved her 1 year old to a toddler bed.

I was thinking about taking the front panel off her crib to make it the toddler transition bed, but I don't think I AM ready for that! I don't think I am ready for her to roam around her room until I get her. Ehhhh😣

My baby doesn't sleep in a crib, never has. She sleeps on a mattress on the floor. I admit it has its challenges, but it works for us

My parents brought him a toddler bed for their house and he does well. He is also very tall and solid.

My daughter will be 18 months when baby #2 arrives.  The new baby will stay in our room for at least 3 months.  I'm thinking of transitioning our toddler to a toddler bed at that point and putting the new baby in the crib.  Is around 21 months reasonable?

My oldest son was in a toddler bed at 13 months because he wouldn't stop climbing out. He was fine until he started getting up and going into my parents room because I lived with them. He started by coming into my room and I was very adamant about putting him back in bed. He stopped coming to my bed and started going to theirs. My parents would let him stay in their bed. If you don't want to co-sleep, stick to your guns and keep putting them back. It takes a lot of long nights and less sleep but they will learn after a few nights and stop getting up.

My son isn't as big as yours but we already had an accident of him climbing out his crib, so we will be transitioning him soon

My kid is a shorty so crib size isn't an issue. But he tries climbing out and I'd be more worried that he'd just hop out of bed and follow us out of the room after we lay him down. But I have friends who transitioned to toddler beds at 1-2 years, so it's doable.
