Who has a say so in namimg your baby if both parents are not together??

I have been stressed and become very sensitive on deciding my baby girl first name. Me and my guy are not together but is still in my life. No one thinks he shld have the right to name her bcz we are not together and also since she will have his last name. Since forever my babygirl name has been Skye (my name is pronounced as Rain) he doesnt like it but he said he likes Skyler which isnt thay far off. Her middle name will be Richelle after my mom who passed. Shld i keep it as Skye or agree on Skyler and call her Skye for short?? Does he have the right to her naming her??

If he's not involved you have all the say & DONT give her his last name if he's not involved. Thats a privilege not a right

If he was completely uninvolved in your pregnancy then I'd say don't consider him, but if he is involved his opinion should be considered. I'm not really sure what your relationship status with the guy has to do with it  🤷🏾‍♀️. Co-parenting isn't easy, but if you guys are managing to make it work now and when baby arrives then it shouldn't matter if your together or not. Sounds like you might have the wrong ppl in your ear. Two people don't have to be together in order to compromise when it concerns their child, compromising comes with growth and adulthood. Good luck mama

If he's involved I completely agree with giving her his last name and I do feel like his suggestion should be considered! If you name her skyler she will more than likely be called skye a majority of the time anyways, I'm sure that will potentially be her nickname and it's kind of meeting halfway I think!

If he is involved, then his opinion should be considered. I don't think she should get his last name though, but that's your choice. I voted skyler though, only because skye wouldn't have any nickname opportunities. Whereas if it was skyler, she can go by both names.

If he's still in your life and will be in her... you are picking the middle name. It shounds like he's meeting you half way on the first name. I don't see why his decision would be a bad choice. You could nickname her skye.
