night routine

When your baby gets up for his feeding in the middle of the night.. how long does it take to put him back down? Sometimes it takes me an hour !! Any tips? I like to wait 15 min after he eats just in case he has a burp etc.. and then I keep him on me til he falls asleep which is normally instantly but he wakes when I put him down.. so I like to make sure he's fully asleep.
