guy I like

There's this guy I'm really into and my friend tells me he's no a fuck boi and how good of kid he is. When I'm with him I can't help but love his smile. He gives me butterflies as cliché as it is and he knows how to make me laugh. We aren't that close but I'm trying to hold back just enough so he doesn't think I'm like obsessed with him because I tend to go overboard with the whole I have a crush on u "and I'm gonna make it hella obvious" not purposely. But I haven't dated anyone in 3 years so idk what to do. Worst part is he's a freshman and I'm a sophomore so I feel like that's a turn off for him. Any advice??
