OB GYN anxiety

I have a gynecologist appointment tomorrow as a check up on my birth control but I've become sexually active and after my last time having sex, my vagina is red and swollen if you look inside. It's been three or four days and is very painful. I'm scared to talk to my doctor about it because I am young and he always preaches abstinence to me. Help?
