to much for his age?

So my baby boy is 2 weeks old. He weighed 8lbs 7ounces when born and I was not producing enough milk so I switch to formula for him. He was taking 2oz every 2-3 hours the first week. He now weighs 9lbs 8ounces and starting last night he's been hungry after the 2oz and he's been drinking as much as 4oz every 2-3 hours! Is this normal for a 2 week old to eat 4oz?

As long as he's keeping it down, it should be okay. My kiddo is almost 6 months and usually only drinks 3-4oz of breastmilk post feeding. But every baby is different.

Every baby is different. My 16 week baby drinks 3.5 oz of pumped breastmilk every 3 hours except at night (she sleeps thru the night).

You can also google "paced feeding" if you're worried baby is eating too much at a time.

He's probably going through a growth spurt and their tummy grows every week or day at this age. My rule of thumb was always feed her when she's hungry. She's always pulled away from the bottle or now at 9 months smacks it away 😂🤣 when she's done!

Yes very normal. Keep adding an oz when you think he's looking for more. Just burp him after every oz so that he's not gassy. His weight is fine.

Might be different for boys, but my sister didn't start eating four oz until she was about three months old. Every baby is different, I'm sure. I think he's fine. Probably just growing.

Our babies are twins lol-- mine was also born 8lbs7oz & weighed 9lbs6oz at his two week checkup. He is exclusively breastfed, so I have no idea how much he eats, but I'd say you're doing fine since your baby's weight gain is the same!
