high risk doctor?

Question

Has anyone else had a high risk pregnancy where you have to continue seeing your regular OB and the high risk OB at the same time? I find it a bit pointless since they're essentially doing the same thing. Women I work with stated they only went to the high risk after being referred so I'm confused? I like my high risk one more so if I have a choice I'd stick with them. Any suggestions?? Thank you!!

I've seen both my whole pregnancy currently 35 + 6 and as far as I know when it comes time to deliver it switches back to my regular OB. High risk doctors are trained for 2 more years beyond regular OB's and I don't think they do the same stuff as far as delivery so maybe that's why?!

I see both. I saw my high risk dr once and he reviews all test. I see my normal obgyn for normal visits and I will see him 2 times a week every week starting at 32 weeks for non stress test. My normal obgyn will deliver the baby.

I will be seeing both. I meet the high risk OB Team next week. I'll be 10 weeks 6 days at that appointment.

Yes I had to see the high risk as well as the regular OB throughout my whole pregnancy with my son .

I started seeing a high risk perinatologist months before we even started TTC because I knew I had some issues that needed to be under control first and I knew my next pregnancy would be high risk... I wanted to be established with this doctor in advance, he has handled all of my care and I do not want anyone else involved, my regular obgyn was an idiot and I'll never go back to her.
