Has anyone ever felt resentful of theur significant other for having more freedom than they do? My bf went back to work so Im officially up all night and day with the baby til he gets home. Not guna lie it makes me upset bc I was a free spirit before.

I know what you mean but I remind myself that he's probably jealous of the bonding I'm getting with the baby and I try not to take it for granted.

I'm guessing your baby is still really little, like newborn. And if you are breastfeeding especially, yes a lot of the responsibility falls on you and it's hard and emotionally draining.

I was always busy before my baby, and it was an adjustment for me to not be able to just go out and do whatever- dinner, shopping, movies etc- at the drop of a hat. Obviously I can no longer do that, but I make a concious effort to do things that bring me joy outside of the home. I need to schedule it in advance, which does suck, but that's just reality. I really think it is so important to take mental health breaks so you can return home and be your best. We have a sitter at least one weekend night a month, if not two, and my husband watches our daughter at least two nights a month so I can go do something for a few hours like meet friends for happy hour. It doesn't need to be long or anything- but try to carve some time out for yourself!

I can relate but motherhood is a lifetime job. I'm knew my life would not be my own for at least two years (the year I'm pregnant and the first year due to nursing.) 
My resentment comes from my significant others unconscious reliance on me. For example the baby is crying for a few minutes at 4 am, I am finally in the bathroom, SO continues snoring because SO thinks I am with the child. Or, in home all day with the baby, SO gets home from work and is exhausted. I just want to take a dang shower so I'm waiting for SO to take the baby for 15 minutes. SO announces he is tired and goes to bed. I am left with the baby and no shower.
But as someone mentioned we chose this. Seeing my baby smile, giggle and babble makes it all worth it. SO will just have to get used to dirty looks and snippy comments!

No. With a 7month old I have way more freedom than my husband. He works 10-12 hours a day. And when he's off he comes home to us. He's the best Husband ever.

I honestly love my life. I stay home with the baby and yes it is a 24/7 job, but I'm so happy to be with her as she grows. Yes my husband can sleep soundly and have moments to himself but he has a hard job and works hard to support us! He misses out on so much.

My son is 14 months and I STILL miss my old life. Often I would sleep until noon if I wanted. I would get up and shower alone, make lunch alone and enjoy the peace and quiet. I could walk out the door at any time and get my nails done and go tanning and even go have a drink at a bar on a whim! Of course, I'll always miss the freedom and my identity, but at the end of the day, I really feel like my life has purpose.
